Regular Season Round 11: Picken Claret - Almeria 84-62

Very expected game in Valencia where 13th ranked Almeria (2-9) was crushed by seventh ranked Picken Claret (7-4) 84-62 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Picken Claret. Almeria was better in second period 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Picken Claret forced 23 Almeria turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Beatriz Royo (176-91) who led her team to a victory scoring 12 points and 8 rebounds. American center Adijat Adams (188-92, college: Biola, CA, agency: ProDep Management) helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Picken Claret players scored in double figures. Picken Claret's coach Carles Martinez felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Power forward Claudia Baraut (185-94) responded with 12 points and 6 rebounds and Bosnian center Samra Omerbasic (191-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Picken Claret moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with Alcobendas. Almeria lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost. Picken Claret will face league's leader Gran Canaria in Las Palmas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Almeria will play at home against Adelantados (#3) and hope to win that game.
