Regular Season Round 12: Dijon - Monaco 71-99
Date: December 9, 2017
The game in Dijon supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Monaco (9-3) played at the court of 8th ranked JDA Dijon (6-6). Monaco smashed JDA Dijon 99-71. It looked good early as JDA Dijon took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Monaco had a 31-17 second period charge getting the lead and JDA Dijon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 71-99. Monaco shot 60.3 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 60.9 percentage. Monaco players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by Ukrainian swingman Sergii Gladyr (196-88, agency: BeoBasket) who scored that evening 30 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and American point guard Gerald Robinson (185-89, college: Georgia) supported him with 23 points and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Even 8 points and 7 rebounds by naturalized Chadian forward Jacques Alingue (201-88) did not help to save the game for JDA Dijon. Abdoulaye Loum (209-91) added 11 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Monaco have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. JDA Dijon at the other side keeps the eighth place with six games lost. Monaco's next round opponent will be Olympique Antibes (#14) at home which should be another easy win for them. JDA Dijon will play against Hyeres-Toulon (#11) and hope to win that game.
