There was a minor upset when 8th ranked SKY/Basquete (2-3) lost to tenth ranked Paulistano (3-3) in Sao Paulo 84-96 on Saturday. Paulistano looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a very good performance for American-Peruvian point guard Kyle Fuller (185-92, college: Vanderbilt) who helped to win the game recording 27 points. The former international point guard Elio Corazza (193-89, college: Miami Dade CC) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 assists for the winners. The former international center Bruno Fiorotto (208-84) answered with 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international forward Felipe Ribeiro (201-79) added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for SKY/Basquete. Five Paulistano and four SKY/Basquete players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Paulistano moved-up to eighth place. Loser SKY/Basquete dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Paulistano will face Universo/Vitoria (#10) in Salvador in the next round. SKY/Basquete will play on the road against Campo Mourao and hope to win that game.
