Regular Season Round 13: USE Basket - Valsesia 67-49

There was a minor upset in Empoli where higher ranked Valsesia (6-7) was defeated by twelfth ranked USE Basket (6-7) 67-49 on Saturday. Power forward Valerio Marsili (204-87) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and guard Filippo Giannini (184-91) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. USE Basket's coach Giovanni Bassi used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side guard Nicolo Gatti (196-91) responded with 7 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Mattia Magrini (190-93) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. USE Basket moved-up to seventh place in B, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Valsesia. USE Basket will face Moncalieri (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Valsesia will play against San Miniato (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
