Regular Season Round 8: Cretan Kings - Promitheas 82-78

The most important game in the last round took place in Rethymno between third ranked Promitheas (6-2) and eleventh ranked Cretan Kings (3-5) on Saturday night. Promitheas was defeated by Cretan Kings in a tough game on the road 78-82. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Promitheas. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Promitheas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Stefan Moody (179-93, college: Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 4 assists and the other American import point guard Malcolm Armstead (187-89, college: Wichita St.) who added 18 points during the contest. Five Cretan Kings players scored in double figures. Bosnian forward Milan Milosevic (203-85, agency: BeoExcell) responded with 28 points and 9 rebounds and Senegalese forward Mouhammad Faye (208-85, college: SMU) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Promitheas' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Cretan Kings moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Promitheas at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with Olympiacos and Lavrio. Cretan Kings is looking forward to face league's leader Panathinaikos in Athens in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Promitheas will play at home against Kolossos HH and is hoping to win this game.
