Regular Season Round 10: Otsuka A. - Tokyo Big Blue 95-80

Bottom-ranked Tokyo Big Blue is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to third ranked Otsuka A. (7-3) 95-80 on Saturday evening. Otsuka A. outrebounded Tokyo Big Blue 42-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Otsuka A. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Tokyo Big Blue's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Otsuka A. made 7 blocks. American forward Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 17 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import forward Ray Raymond (203-84, college: Wisconsin) supported him with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Otsuka A.'s coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds by forward Bryan Simpson (197-84) did not help to save the game for Tokyo Big Blue. Point guard Yoshikawa Osamuakira (182-92) added 23 points for lost side. Otsuka A. maintains third position with 7-3 record having just two point less than leader Saitama Bron. Loser Tokyo Big Blue still closes the standings with eight games lost. Otsuka A. will meet Toyoda Gosei (#4) in the next round.
