Very important is a road loss of third ranked Deportivo Valdivia (14-7) against sixth ranked Osorno Basquetbol (6-14) on Saturday night. Visiting Deportivo Valdivia was defeated by Osorno Basquetbol in a tough game in Osorno 81-89. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Deportivo Valdivia. The winners were led by American Durrell Summers (193-89, college: Michigan St.) who scored that evening 31 points and 4 assists and swingman Rodrigo Munoz (186-80) supported him with 17 points. Even 25 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals by the former international guard Erik Carrasco (181-83) did not help to save the game for Deportivo Valdivia. American-Panamanian center Javier Carter (203-91, college: S.Alabama) added 14 points and 17 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Osorno Basquetbol have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 6-14 record. Deportivo Valdivia at the other side still keeps top place with seven games lost. They share the position with AB Ancud and Los Leones. Osorno Basquetbol will play against higher ranked Puerto Montt (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Deportivo Valdivia will have a break next round.
