Regular Season Round 21: Fukuoka Rizing - Yamagata 64-62

Fourth-ranked Yamagata (8-12) gave a tough game to first ranked Fukuoka Rizing (17-3) on Saturday. Fukuoka Rizing managed to secure only two-point victory 64-62. However their fans expected easier game. American Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: Arizona St.) stepped up and scored 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and international center Pape Faye (200-87) chipped in 10 points and 11 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and guard Masanari Masanari (186-91) scored 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Fukuoka Rizing maintains first place with 17-3 record. Yamagata at the other side keeps the fourth position with 12 games lost. Fukuoka Rizing are again looking forward to face Yamagata (#4) at home in the next round. Yamagata will have a break next round.
