Regular Season Round 10: Villeneuve - Lattes Montp. 62-60

Fifth-ranked Lattes Montpellier (5-5) made lots of trouble for second ranked Villeneuve D'Ascq (9-1) on Saturday. Villeneuve D'Ascq managed to secure only two-point victory 62-60. However their fans expected easier game. The former international Johanne Gomis-Halilovic (179-85) fired 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. British Johannah Leedham (178-87, college: Franklin Pierce) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Courtney Hurt (185-90, college: VCU) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds and German forward Romy Baer (187-87) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Villeneuve D'Ascq have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Bourges. Lattes Montpellier at the other side keeps the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Lyon and Tarbes. Villeneuve D'Ascq is looking forward to face Lyon (#5) at home in the next round. Lattes Montpellier will play against Basket Landes in Mont de Marsan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
