SM-sarja top team - Catz Lappeenranta (11-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Espoo Team (5-8) 87-66. The game was mostly controlled by Catz Lappeenranta. Espoo Team was better in fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by U.S. Virgin Islands-American swingman Natalie Day (182-90, college: Portland) who scored that evening 27 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and American point guard Valencia McFarland (163-91, college: Mississippi) supported her with 13 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Four Catz Lappeenranta players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 22 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) by American forward Kamilah Jackson (181-92, college: Hawaii) did not help to save the game for Espoo Team. Her fellow American import guard Zykira Lewis (173-94, college: Cent.Florida, agency: Two Points) added 19 points and 5 rebounds. Catz Lappeenranta have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-1 record. Espoo Team at the other side keeps the sixth place with eight games lost. Catz Lappeenranta will play against HyPo (#4) in Hyvinkaa in the next round.
