Very expected game in Zaragoza where 10th ranked Socinsa Bembibre (4-7) was defeated by fifth ranked Mann Filter (7-4) 81-70 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Mann Filter dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Socinsa Bembibre's 42. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Italian-Paraguayan swingman Paola Ferrari (178-85, college: Union, TN, agency: ProDep Management) who scored 12 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals. The former international forward Tamara Abalde (190-89, agency: ProDep Management) chipped in 23 points. Canadian center Quinn Urbaniak-Dornstauder (193-95, college: Arizona St.) produced 20 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Brittany Brown (173-95, college: Florida St., agency: ProDep Management) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Mann Filter and four Socinsa Bembibre players scored in double figures. Mann Filter moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sant Adria. Socinsa Bembibre at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. Mann Filter will face bottom-ranked ASEFA Estudiantes (#14) in Madrid in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Socinsa Bembibre will play on the road against the league's leader Perfumerias Avenida in Salamanca and hope to win that game.
