Regular Season Round 12: Limoges - Le Portel 88-79

Very expected game when 12th ranked Le Portel (5-7) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Limoges CSP Elite (8-4) 88-79 on Saturday. Le Portel was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 25-11 charge of Limoges CSP Elite, which allowed them to win the game. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Limoges CSP Elite especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Le Portel was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was international William Howard (202-93) who scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Josh Carter (201-88, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 12 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Trae Golden (189-91, college: Georgia Tech) who recorded 12 points and 9 assists and Moroccan-Canadian Mohamed Hachad (194-83, college: Northwestern) added 14 points respectively. Four Le Portel players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Limoges CSP Elite have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Le Mans. Le Portel lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with seven games lost. Limoges CSP Elite will face league's second-placed Le Mans at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Le Portel will play against SIG Strasbourg (#4) and hope to win that game.
