Regular Season Round 10: SIG - Reims 66-68

A very close game took place in llkirch-Graff. between Reims and SIG. Eighth ranked Reims (4-6) got a very close victory on the road over 10th ranked SIG (2-8). Reims managed to escape with a 2-point win 68-66 on Saturday evening. Montenegrin center Natasa Popovic (192-82) notched 14 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Marine Debaut supported her with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Five Reims players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points and 16 rebounds by Cameroonian Amina NJonkou (185-88, college: Arizona) did not help to save the game for SIG. Justine Wintz added 18 points for lost side. Reims moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Arras. SIG lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with eight games lost. Reims will meet at home league's leader Toulouse in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. SIG will play against COB Calais (#6) and hope to secure a win.
