Regular Season Round 15: Denso Iris - Toyota B SR 76-71

There was no surprise in Kariya where 7th ranked Toyota B SR (8-7) was defeated by third ranked Denso Iris (12-3) 76-71. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 13-7 Toyota B SR's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 76-71 at the end of the game. Denso Iris dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Toyota B SR's 30. They outrebounded Toyota B SR 47-33 including a 37-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for the former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds. The former international center Sakura Akaho (182-96) accounted for 6 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Power forward Sakiko Nomachi (177-87) came up with 21 points and 7 rebounds and guard Yui Kawahara (169-91) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Toyota B SR in the defeat. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Denso Iris. They maintain third place with 12-3 record having just two points less than leader JX-Eneos S., which they share with Chanson V-M. Toyota B SR lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Denso Iris' next round opponent will be again Toyota B SR (#7) in Aichi.
