Regular Season Round 3: Olimpico LB - Atenas 86-87

A very interesting game took place in La Banda. It ended with only one-point home defeat of Olimpico de La Banda (1-2) to Atenas (3-1) 87-86 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Atenas made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American center Jerome Meyinsse (207-88, college: Virginia) who led the winners and scored 28 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Donald Sims (185-87, college: Appalachian St., agency: Pensack Sports) accounted for 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists for the winning side. American-Puerto Rican Ramon Clemente (200-85, college: Wichita St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized Italian center Damian Tintorelli (204-81) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Olimpico de La Banda in the defeat. Four Olimpico de La Banda players scored in double figures. Atenas' next round opponent will be Quimsa (#13) in Santiado del Estero and are hoping to win another game. Olimpico de La Banda will play on the road against Penarol in Mar del Plata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
