There was no surprise when 4th placed Sant Adria (7-4) was crushed at home by second ranked Argon Uni Girona (9-2) 85-61 on Sunday. The game without a history. Argon Uni Girona led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was American-Slovenian power forward Shante Evans (184-91, college: Hofstra) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Brazilian center Nadia Colhado (193-89, agency: ProDep Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Four Argon Uni Girona players scored in double figures. Mali center Mariam Coulibaly (193-97) produced 13 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Andrea Riley (165-88, college: Oklahoma St.) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Argon Uni Girona have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 9-2 record behind leader Avenida. Newly promoted Sant Adria keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Argon Uni Girona will face Zamarat (#12) in Zamora in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sant Adria will play on the road against Universitario de Ferrol (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
