Rather expected game when 5th ranked Shimane Magic (5-16) was defeated on the road by second ranked Kyoto Hannar. (12-9) 89-78 on Sunday. Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) fired 20 points and 7 assists for the winners. American center Joshua Smith (208-92, college: Georgetown) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Shota Watanabe (180-93) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Kyoto Hannar. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-9 record having five points less than leader Ryukyu GK, which they share with Toshiba BT. Shimane Magic lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth place with 16 games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will face league's second-placed San-en NeoPhoenix in Hamamatsu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shimane Magic will play on the road against Diamond Dolphins in Nagoya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
