Regular Season Round 16: Yokohama BC - Tochigi Brex 70-78

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Yokohama BC (4-17) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Tochigi Brex (10-11) 78-70 on Sunday. Tochigi Brex looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tochigi Brex made 7 blocks. American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Swingman Shuhei Kitagawa (185-85) chipped in 17 points. Tanzanian center Hasheem Thabeet (218-87, college: Connecticut) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and American forward William McDonald (206-79, college: Grambling St.) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Defending champion maintains sixth position with 10-11 record which they share with defeated Yokohama BC. Yokohama BC lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 17 games lost. Tochigi Brex will face league's leader Toyota Alvark in Tokyo in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
