Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Karkkila (6-5) was outplayed at home by first ranked Loimaan Korikonkarit (10-1) 101-69 on Sunday. The game without a history. Loimaan Korikonkarit led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Karkkila's 32. Loimaan Korikonkarit looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Josh Caldwell (203, college: William Penn) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Rasmus Marttinen (191-97) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Caldwell is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Point guard Janne Kinnunen (185-87) produced 31 points and 4 assists and American center Byron Burnett (206-82, college: FIU) added 12 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Newly promoted Loimaan Korikonkarit maintains first place in Division with 10-1 record. Loser Karkkila keeps the sixth position with five games lost. Loimaan Korikonkarit will face HNMKY U23 (#4) in Helsinki in the next round. Karkkila will play at home against Aanekosken Huima and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
