Regular Season Round 8: Faros Keratsiniou - PAOK 74-51
Date: December 10, 2017
Rather expected game when 5th ranked PAOK (4-4) was crushed on the road by third ranked Faros Keratsiniou (7-1) 74-51 on Sunday. The game without a history. Faros Keratsiniou led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Faros Keratsiniou had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Zoi Kechagia (170-79) who scored 20 points and 4 assists. American forward Jade Walker (185, college: St.John's) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Faros Keratsiniou players scored in double figures. American power forward Kierra Mallard (188-90, college: Texas Tech) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Keani Albanez (178-93, college: Gonzaga) added 10 points respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Faros Keratsiniou moved-up to second place, which they share with Panionios. Loser PAOK dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Esperides. Faros Keratsiniou will meet Esperides (#6) in the next round. PAOK will play against Dafni Agioy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
