An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Jinan. Third ranked Golden Stars faced second-ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Host Golden Stars (11-3) defeated guests from Hangzhou (10-4) 131-126. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Golden Stars forced 24 Zhejiang Guangsha Lions turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Ty Lawson (180-87, college: N.Carolina) orchestrated the victory by scoring 36 points (!!!), 9 assists and 5 steals. International forward Yanyuhang Ding (200-93) contributed with 35 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Golden Stars' coach Aleksandar Kesar allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American point guard Courtney Fortson (180-88, college: Arkansas, agency: 3Eye) replied with a double-double by scoring 55 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 15 assists and 4 steals and international center Jinqiu Hu (208-97) added 22 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Golden Stars keep a position of league leader, which they share with Liaoning FL and Jiangsu D. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions at the other side dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with Guangdong ST and Zhejiang GB. Golden Stars will play against Jiangsu Dragons (#3) in Nanjing in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will play on the road against Eagles in Qingdao and hope to get back on the winning track.
