Regular Season Round 17: Rieker KN - Zilina 102-72

Rather expected game in Komarno where 8th ranked Zilina (4-13) was crushed by sixth ranked Rieker KN (9-8) 102-72 on Sunday. Rieker KN looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Zilina's players. The best player for the winners was Slovenian guard Boban Tomic (190-88) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). American guard Troynell Adams (193-90, college: Oklahoma City) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Rieker KN players scored in double figures. Rieker KN's coach Milos Sporar felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Robert Rozanek (190-96) produced 25 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and American swingman Bobby Brown (201-94, college: Alabama St.) added 22 points respectively for the guests. The victory was the third consecutive win for Rieker KN. They maintain sixth place with 9-8 record. Zilina lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Handlova. Rieker KN will meet league's second-placed Kosice on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zilina will play against Handlova (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
