Regular Season Round 11: Koping Stars - LF Future 88-58

Very expected game when 9th ranked LF Future (2-11) was crushed on the road by second ranked Koping Stars (11-1) 88-58 on Sunday. Koping Stars dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to LF Future's 24. They outrebounded LF Future 48-32 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Koping Stars looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by LF Future's players. The best player for the winners was guard Robertino Duric (192-92) who scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international swingman Sean Smith (198-87, college: NC-Asheville) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. Koping Stars' coach Panagiotis Nikolaidis felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Iraqi forward Samir Ali-Hussein (200-92) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and guard Pluto Maudsley (185-98) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Koping Stars maintains second place with 11-1 record having 2 victories less than leader Djurgarden. LF Future lost their ninth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with 11 games lost. Koping Stars will meet at home Wetterbygden (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. LF Future will play against AIK Basket (#4) and hope to secure a win.
