Regular Season Round 14: Jilin NE T. - Shanghai S. 110-114

Date: December 10, 2017
Rather predictable result in Changchun where fourteenth ranked Sharks (7-7) beat 17th ranked Jilin Tigers (3-11) 114-110. Sharks made 30-of-34 charity shots (88.2 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Jilin Tigers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) notched a double-double by scoring 50 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (was perfect 19-for-19 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and the other American import Nick Minnerath (207-88, college: Detroit Mercy) supported him with 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Even 20 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists by American guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) did not help to save the game for Jilin Tigers. Power forward Huaibo Dai (205-94) added 20 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the hosts. Five Jilin Tigers players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Sharks moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Jilin Tigers lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 11 games lost. Sharks' next round opponent will be Monkey Kings (#13) in Jiangsu. Jilin Tigers will play on the road against the league's leader Flying Leopards (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
