Regular Season Round 13: Matera - Recanati 96-86

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Recanati (8-5) against ninth ranked Matera (7-6) on Sunday night. Visiting Recanati was defeated by Matera in Matera 96-86. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Recanati's 30. They outrebounded Recanati 39-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. Matera players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Recanati's players. Worth to mention a great performance of center Nicolo Ravazzani (198-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 17 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Naturalized Argentinian swingman Franco Migliori (200-82) contributed with 32 points for the winners. Point guard Francesco Guarino (182-79, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 22 points and 6 assists and guard Giacomo Gurini (192-84) added 21 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Recanati. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Matera moved-up to fifth place in B, which they share with Forli Tigers. Recanati at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Matera's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Campli at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Recanati will play against the league's leader San Severo and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the Serie A2 just one year after relegation.
