Regular Season Round 9: Maccabi Rishon - Hapoel Eilat 85-91

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Maccabi Rishon (4-5) lost to tenth ranked Hapoel Eilat (3-6) in Rishon Le-Zion 85-91 on Sunday. Maccabi Rishon was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for guard Jordan Loyd (193-93, college: Indianapolis) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Demetrius Treadwell (201-91, college: Akron) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Mississippi) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds and Mark Tollefsen (206-92, college: Arizona) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Maccabi Rishon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel Eilat moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Maccabi Ashdod and Ironi Nes-Ziona. Loser Maccabi Rishon dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Hapoel Eilat will face Maccabi Ashdod (#11) at home in the next round.
