Regular Season Round 16: Denso Iris - Toyota B SR 82-62

No shocking result in a game in Kariya where third ranked Denso Iris (13-3) smashed 7th ranked Toyota B SR (8-8) 82-62 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Denso Iris. Toyota B SR managed to win third quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. Denso Iris outrebounded Toyota B SR 50-33 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Sakura Akaho (182-96) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) who added 24 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side power forward Sari Osabe (174-87) responded with 25 points and guard Yui Kawahara (169-91) scored 9 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Denso Iris have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Toyota A. Toyota B SR lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. Denso Iris will meet at home league's leader JX-Eneos S. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toyota B SR will play against Fujitsu RW (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
