Regular Season Round 12: Pau-Lacq-Orthez - Levallois 93-79

There was no surprise when 16th ranked Paris-Levallois (4-8) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (6-6) 93-79 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Paris-Levallois was better in second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was international point guard Elie-Franck Okobo (188-97) who scored 23 points and 4 assists. Zimbabwean power forward Vitalis Chikoko (208-91) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Gavin Ware (206-93, college: Mississippi St.) who recorded 13 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) and international Boris Diaw (203-82) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Four Paris-Levallois players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pau-Lacq-Orthez moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Paris-Levallois keeps the sixteenth position with eight games lost. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will face Boulazac Basket (#17) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Paris-Levallois will play against Chalons-Reims and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
