There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Tochigi Brex (10-11) outscored on the road 6th ranked Yokohama BC (4-17) 86-67 on Monday. They outrebounded Yokohama BC 34-20 including 25 on the defensive glass. American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) fired a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. The other American import guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. The former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) produced 14 points and 5 rebounds and Tanzanian center Hasheem Thabeet (218-87, college: Connecticut) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Defending champion maintains sixth position with 10-11 record which they share with defeated Yokohama BC. Yokohama BC lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 17 games lost. Tochigi Brex will face league's leader Toyota Alvark in Tokyo in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
