The game in Ciudad Victoria was also quite interesting. 4th placed Capitanes (10-7) played at the court of fifth ranked Correcaminos (11-6). Correcaminos managed to secure a 5-point victory 100-95 on Monday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Capitanes. Correcaminos made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American guard Kennedy Jones (188-89, college: Arlington Baptist) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 5 assists. His fellow American import swingman Brandon Davis (198-88, college: Lamar, agency: Pro Sports) helped adding 28 points. Correcaminos' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side the former international Hector Hernandez (205-85, college: Fresno St., agency: BeoBasket) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and the former international guard Gabriel Giron (192-88) scored 25 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Correcaminos have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Soles. Newly promoted Capitanes dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Correcaminos will again meet at home Capitanes (#5) in the next round. Capitanes will have a break next round.
