Regular Season Round 8: Mogi - Franca 72-71
Date: December 12, 2017
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Mogi as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Mogi edged 9th ranked Vivo/Franca in Mogi das Cruzes 72-71. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 assists and the former international point guard Larry Taylor (185-80, college: Missouri Western) who added 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. International Leonardo Meindl (201-93) responded with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and international point guard Henrique Coelho (183-93) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Vivo/Franca players scored in double figures. Vivo/Franca's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Pinheiros. Vivo/Franca at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Paulistano. Vivo/Franca will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Mogi will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Pinheiros in Sao Paulo.
