Regular Season Round 9: Ironi Nahariya - Maccabi T-A 90-98

Winner League top team - Maccabi T-A (9-1) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fifth ranked Ironi Nahariya (5-5) 98-90. The guests were already 16 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 30-22 Ironi Nahariya's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 98-90 at the end of the game. Maccabi T-A dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Ironi Nahariya's 32. They outrebounded Ironi Nahariya 41-19 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Maccabi T-A players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The best player for the winners was Australian power forward Jonah Bolden (208-96, college: UCLA) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. American point guard Pierre Jackson (180-91, college: Baylor) chipped in 21 points, 7 assists and 7 steals. Maccabi T-A's coach Neven Spahija allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was New Zealand guard Corey Webster (188-88, college: Lambuth) who recorded 27 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and American swingman Alex Young (198-89, college: IUPUI, agency: Two Points) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively. Four Maccabi T-A and five Ironi Nahariya players scored in double figures. Maccabi T-A maintains first place with 9-1 record. Ironi Nahariya at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
