Regular Season Round 6: Panteras - Caballos 76-81

Very significant was Caballos' (#1) 81-76 road victory against second-best Panteras. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Panteras were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international Josimar Ayarza (205-87, college: S.Mississippi) notched 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the former international forward Adalberto Rojas (200-86) supported him with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds by Josimar Blenman (200-89, college: Globe Tech JC) did not help to save the game for Panteras. Luis Dinolis (185-93, college: Broward CC) added 17 points. Five Caballos and four Panteras players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Caballos (5-1) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Panteras at the other side keep the second place with two games lost. Caballos will play against Correcaminos (#3) in Colon in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Panteras will play on the road against Toros in David and hope to get back on the winning track.
