The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Al Arabi (4-1) in Doha on Tuesday night. Hosts were edged by third ranked Qatar Sports Club (4-1) 73-72. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Al Arabi. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Qatar Sports Club made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Al Arabi outrebounded Qatar Sports Club 61-41 including a 45-30 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for the former international center Mohd-Yousuf Mohmmed (204-82) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Baden Jaxen (190-90, college: N.Carolina) contributed with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Nick Stover (198-93, college: S.Alabama) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and Senegalese center Oumar Seck (208-88) added 7 points and 23 rebounds in the effort for Al Arabi. Four Al Arabi players scored in double figures. Qatar Sports Club have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Al Arabi. Qatar Sports Club is looking forward to face Al Khor (#6) on the road in the next round. Al Arabi's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Ahli.
