There was a small surprise when seventeenth ranked Weber Bahia (2-4) edged 17th ranked Olimpico de La Banda (2-3) in Bahia Blanca 79-77 on Wednesday. Quite impressive performance for international Maximo Fjellerup (198-97) who helped to win the game recording 24 points. Uruguayan point guard Luciano Parodi (182-94) contributed with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Weber Bahia's coach Sebastian Ginobili used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American swingman Rodney Green (196-88, college: La Salle) replied with 18 points and 6 rebounds and American-Puerto Rican Ramon Clemente (200-85, college: Wichita St.) added 12 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Olimpico de La Banda. Four Olimpico de La Banda players scored in double figures. Weber Bahia moved-up to sixteenth place. Olimpico de La Banda lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with three games lost. Weber Bahia will have a break next round.
