Regular Season Round 11: GTK Gliwice - BM Slam Stal 83-92

Very predictable result in Gliwice where eleventh ranked BM Slam Stal (6-5) defeated 16th ranked GTK (2-10) 92-83 on Wednesday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-17. But GTK won third quarter 30-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when BM Slam Stal won last quarter 23-15. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American guard DJ Richardson (190-91, college: Illinois, agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 7 rebounds. Croatian forward Jure Skific (202-88, agency: 011 Sports) helped adding 18 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Quinton Hooker (183, college: N.Dakota) responded with 21 points and 7 assists and the other American import center Maverick Morgan (208-94, college: Illinois) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four GTK players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. BM Slam Stal moved-up to ninth place. GTK lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixteenth position with ten games lost. BM Slam Stal will face higher ranked Stelmet (#5) in Zielona Gora in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. GTK will play on the road against Trefl (#8) in Sopot and hope to win that game.
