Balkan League round 8 most important game was a victory of Levski 2014 over one of their biggest challengers Academik Plovdiv 69-67 on Wednesday night. Serbian center Nikola Maravic (212-89, agency: BeoBasket) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Stanimir Marinov (192-91, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Levski 2014 players scored in double figures. American point guard Shakir Smith (185-92, college: Adams St.) replied with 20 points and Martin Durchev (202-87) added 12 points and 6 assists in the effort for Academik Plovdiv. Levski 2014 (3-3) moved-up to third place. Academik Plovdiv lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Bashkimi. Levski 2014 are looking forward to face league's leader Rilski in Samokov in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Academik Plovdiv will play on the road against SK Tirana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
