Regular Season Round 6: Al Gharafa - Al Shamal 101-82

D1 top team - Al Gharafa (5-0) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Al Shamal (0-6) in Doha 101-82. Al Gharafa looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American point guard James Justice (178-89, college: Martin Methodist) notched 27 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and international forward Sammy Monroe (198-85, college: Newberry) supported him with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Monroe is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Al Gharafa players scored in double figures. Even 26 points and 9 assists by American Dale Brown did not help to save the game for Al Shamal. Guard Elhag-Ali Saleh (191) added 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Al Gharafa have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. Al Shamal at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Al Gharafa will meet Al Wakrah (#5) on the road in the next round. Al Shamal's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Rayyan.
