Very important is a home loss of third ranked Correcaminos (11-7) against fifth ranked Capitanes (11-7) on Wednesday night. Host Correcaminos were defeated by Capitanes in Ciudad Victoria 93-80. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Correcaminos. Capitanes made 24-of-31 charity shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Hector Hernandez (205-85, college: Fresno St., agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds and the former international point guard Pedro Meza (186-85, college: Arizona W. CC, agency: Pro Sports) who added 19 points and 4 assists during the contest. American guard Kennedy Jones (188-89, college: Arlington Baptist) responded with 20 points and his fellow American import swingman Brandon Davis (198-88, college: Lamar, agency: Pro Sports) scored 18 points. Five Capitanes and four Correcaminos players scored in double figures. Capitanes moved-up to third place, which they share with Correcaminos and Soles. Capitanes will play against Libertadores (#10) in Queretaro in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Correcaminos will play on the road against Soles (#3) in Mexicali and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
