There was no surprise in Reykjavik where 5th ranked Keflavik (6-5) was defeated by third ranked IR (8-3) 96-92. IR outrebounded Keflavik 43-31 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Ryan Taylor (196-92, college: Marshall) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. International point guard Matthias Sigurdarson (183-94, college: Columbus St.) accounted for 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. IR's coach Borche Ilievski allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Stanley Robinson (206-88, college: Connecticut) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds and guard Gudmundur Jonsson (188-84) added 15 points respectively for Keflavik in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. IR keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Keflavik at the other side dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. IR's next round opponent will be Tindastoll (#4) in Sauoarkrokur. Keflavik will play on the road against Valur in Reykjavik and hope to win that game.
