Regular Season Round 12: Lahti - HBA-Marsky 79-94

1st Division top team - HBA-Marsky (11-3) managed to deliver another win on Thursday. This time they beat sixth ranked Lahti (6-5) 94-79. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-79. HBA-Marsky forced 20 Lahti turnovers. The winners were led by forward Mikael Jantunen (203-0) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and forward Elias Valtonen (198-99) supported him with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by American power forward Henry Pwono (201-91, college: East Central) did not help to save the game for Lahti. His fellow American import guard Devin Martin (193, college: Md-E Shore) added 19 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. HBA-Marsky maintains first position in Division with 11-3 record. Loser Lahti dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. HBA-Marsky will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lahti will play against Korikouvot (#7) in Kouvola and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
