Regular Season Round 16: Xinjiang FT - Beikong FD 117-111

There was no surprise in Urumqi where 11th ranked Fly Dragons (8-8) were defeated by ninth ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (10-6) 117-111. Xinjiang Flying Tige players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Bulgarian point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: Dutt Sports Services) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 10 assists. The former international center Changdong Yu (206-91) contributed with 26 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Shavlik Randolph (208-83, college: Duke) replied with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and Jordanian forward Zaid Abbas (203-83) added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Fly Dragons. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fly Dragons' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Zhejiang GB. Fly Dragons at the other side keep the eleventh position with eight games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige's next round opponent will be higher ranked Beijing Ducks (#6) at home and it may be quite challenging game. Fly Dragons will play against Bayi Rockets (#20) and hope to win that game.
