Regular Season Round 14: Skallagrimur - IA 127-96

D1 top team - Skallagrimur (10-2) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed ninth ranked IA (0-11) in Borganes 127-96. Skallagrimur dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to IA's 48 and made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Skallagrimur forced 25 IA turnovers and outrebounded them 41-30 including a 19-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. American guard Aaron Parks (190-94, college: CS Northridge) notched 27 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals to lead the effort and swingman Eyjolfur Halldorsson (194-98) supported him with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Skallagrimur players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 44 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 15-for-15 from the free throw line !!!) by American point guard Marcus Dewberry (183, college: St.Leo, agency: Aspire Sports) did not help to save the game for IA. Jon Frimannsson added 20 points for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Skallagrimur maintains first position with 10-2 record. Loser IA still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Skallagrimur will meet at home Gnupverjar (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. IA will play against Snaefell and hopes to get finally their first victory.
