CBA top team - Flying Leopards (13-3) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked Sharks (7-9) in Shanghai 98-79. They outrebounded Sharks 50-39 including a 40-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Flying Leopards made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a quality performance of American forward Brandon Bass (203-85, college: LSU, agency: Dutt Sports Services) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and the former international Ailun Guo (192-93) who added 20 points during the contest. At the losing side American Nick Minnerath (207-88, college: Detroit Mercy) responded with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 13 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and his fellow American import point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Flying Leopards maintains first position with 13-3 record, which they share with Shandong GS. Sharks at the other side keep the thirteenth place with nine games lost. Flying Leopards is looking forward to face Leopards (#7) in Shenzhen in the next round where they are favorite. Sharks will play at home against the league's second-placed Golden Stars (#2) and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
