Regular Season Round 14: Fjolnir - Vestri 90-91

Sixth-ranked Fjolnir (5-8) was very close to win a game against third ranked Vestri (9-3) on Friday. Vestri managed to secure only one-point victory 91-90. However their fans expected easier game. Vestri outrebounded Fjolnir 37-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. Montenegrin forward Nemanja Knezevic (203-87) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 16 rebounds. Serbian swingman Nebojsa Knezevic (196-87) contributed with 25 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Vestri players scored in double figures. American guard Sam Prescott (190-90, college: Mt.St.Mary's, agency: SDJ Sports) replied with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Sigvaldi Eggertsson (197-0) added 21 points in the effort for Fjolnir. Fjolnir's coach Falur Hardarson tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Vestri have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 9-3 record behind leader Skallagrimur. Fjolnir lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with eight games lost. Vestri are looking forward to face Hamar (#4) on the road in the next round. Fjolnir will play against FSU and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
