The game in Gomel supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Vitebsk (9-8) played at the court of 8th ranked GOCOR-Sozh (5-12). Vitebsk smashed GOCOR-Sozh 92-59. It looked good early as GOCOR-Sozh took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Vitebsk had a 28-7 second period charge getting the lead and GOCOR-Sozh was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 59-92. They dominated on the defensive end, holding GOCOR-Sozh to just 7 points in second quarter. Vitebsk dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to GOCOR-Sozh's 24. Vitebsk forced 26 GOCOR-Sozh turnovers. The best player for the winners was Yahor Patupchik (191-94) who scored 30 points and 4 steals. Center Pavel Bliznets (210-94) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Four Vitebsk players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Evgeniy Rybkin (195-96) who recorded 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Tsimafei Viaroukin (186-93) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vitebsk have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 9-8 record, which they share with Impuls BGUIR. GOCOR-Sozh lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 12 games lost. Vitebsk will have a break next round. GOCOR-Sozh will play again at home against Vitebsk (#4) and hope to win that game.
