Regular Season Round 9: Vichy Clermont - Fos-Provence 71-73

A very interesting game took place in Vichy. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 8th ranked JA Vichy (5-4) to ninth ranked Provence Basket (5-4) 73-71 in the game for the seventh place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of JA Vichy. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. It was a good game for Ivorian-American swingman Charles Abouo (196-89, college: BYU) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. Point guard Edouard Choquet (188-88) contributed with 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Provence Basket's coach Remi Giutta allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. David Denave (193-85) answered with 22 points and American point guard Kwamain Mitchell (178-89, college: St.Louis) added 10 points, 10 assists and 4 steals in the effort for JA Vichy. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Provence Basket moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated JA Vichy. Provence Basket's next round opponent will be Denain Voltaire (#11) at home.
