Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Scrivia (7-5) defeated at home 10th ranked San Salvatore (5-7) 79-65 on Saturday. Scrivia looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for naturalized Brazilian swingman Tayara Madonna (170-91, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who led her team to a victory with 24 points and 4 assists. Slovenian power forward Ana Ljubenovic (185-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Scrivia players scored in double figures. Scrivia's coach Fabio Pozzi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Naturalized Canadian Melissa Rondinelli (184-91) replied with 22 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Cinzia Arioli (178-84, agency: LBM Management) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for San Salvatore. Scrivia maintains seventh position in A2 with 7-5 record. Loser San Salvatore keeps the tenth place with seven games lost. Scrivia will face Fanola SML (#15) in San Martino di L in the next round and are hoping to win another game. San Salvatore will play at home against Cagliari CUS (#16) and hope to win that game.
