Regular Season Round 10: Psychiko - Arkadikos 83-67

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Psychiko (6-4) beat 15th ranked Arkadikos (1-9) in Athens 83-67 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Psychiko. Arkadikos was better in second period 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Arkadikos 40-27 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for point guard Thomas Nikou (185-80) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 assists. Naturalized American swingman Nicholas Paulos (201-92, college: NC-Greensboro) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Four Psychiko players scored in double figures. Psychiko's coach Nikos Remendelas used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Center Savvas Tsougarakis (207-86) replied with 18 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and forward Giannis Prodromou (196-87) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Arkadikos. Psychiko have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 6-4 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Arkadikos lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with nine games lost. Psychiko will face Ermis Agias (#9) in the next round. Arkadikos will play against Ethnikos (#11) and hope to win that game.
