Regular Season Round 12: Aros Patatas - Barca CBS 56-64

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Leon. Third ranked Barca CBS faced second-best Aros Patatas. Guests from Barcelona (9-3) defeated host Aros Patatas (9-3) 64-56. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Aros Patatas. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 22-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Aros Patatas outrebounded Barca CBS 44-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Lucia Pablos (172-85, college: Northeastern) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Carla Perez (-91) who added 15 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was power forward Itsaso Conde (185-96) with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and guard Marta Canella (178-95) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Aros Patatas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Barca CBS have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group A, which they share with defeated Aros Patatas. Barca CBS will meet at home Rioja (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aros Patatas will play against Cortegada (#5) in Vilagarcia Arousa and hope to secure a win.
